I especially appreciated that he took time out of his day to meet me at the South store and make things as convenient as possible. Although I ultimately decided to hold off on purchasing at this time, that decision had nothing to do with Kent or the service I received. I really appreciated his time, patience, and no-pressure approach. Based on my experience with Kent, I would absolutely recommend working with him.”

2024 Dodge Durango Expert Review
An expert perspective from Edmunds on this model year.
Model-year editorial research only; not VIN- or trim-specific equipment verification.
Dodge has a reputation for keeping its vehicles in showrooms long past their sell-by dates, and the Durango is no exception. It was last redesigned over a decade ago, and though Dodge has updated the midsize three-row SUV since then, it's positively ancient by today's standards. Its slow, heavy steering and a surprisingly cramped interior is a stark reminder of how vehicles in this segment used to drive and feel. The class has moved on, but the Durango, sadly, cannot.
The old-school approach isn't all doom and gloom, however. There is one aspect of the Durango that has surprisingly persisted in the age of fuel efficiency, and that would be its selection of outrageous engines. Like many midsize three-rows, the Durango offers a V6 engine as standard. But there are also a trio of V8s to choose from, including the rip-snorting SRT Hellcat. This 710-horsepower supercharged beast is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, as long as you aren't looking at gas prices too closely.
Top competitors to the Durango include the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade twins, the Honda Pilot, the recently introduced Mazda CX-90 and all-new Toyota Grand Highlander. Those vehicles all feel much more modern than the Durango with better in-car tech, driver aids and overall comfort. Impressively, the Grand Highlander's Max Hybrid powertrain offers good fuel economy while developing as much power as the V8-powered Durango R/T. Check out the Edmunds Expert Rating below to learn more about the 2024 Dodge Durango.
